Try Rayt Alpha Today!

Posted by Joe Solomon on 09/10/2007 at 02:07 PM

You can now install Rayt on your Internet browser and view and contribute comments on any website on the Internet! Rayt is in Alpha (which means it probably has quirks) but you're getting a sneak peak, so that's pretty cool!

How to Install Rayt on Your Browser:

1) Click the following link to go to http://www.raytthenet.org/bookmark.html .

2) See the link that says "Rayt Bookmarklet"? Good.

3. Drag that link onto your Bookmarks Toolbar (which will create a direct link on the toolbar)

or, if you don't have a Bookmarks Toolbar,

Drag the link onto the word "Bookmarks" on your browser's menu (which will add it to your list of bookmarks.)

Both accomplish the same task: adding Rayt to your bookmarks.

3) Now go to any website you want to comment on

4) Click on the Rayt Bookmarklet link you just created. If you click your Rayt link on the WhiteHouse.gov website, for example. you will see this:

If people have left comments, you should see them pop up in the green toolbar at the top of the page. And if there are a bunch of comments, click on the arrow on the right side of the toolbar, and even more comments will slide into view.

You can also "rayt" any comment based on how interesting or insightful it is to you. Right now those comments that are best rayted by the community are the ones that are shown when the Rayt toolbar first drops down.

And, of course, you can add comments & rayt any site yourself by typing in the box that says "Write your comment here?" These comments will be seen by everyone with the Rayt toolbar and will increase the cross-pollination of knowledge, opinions, and ideas on the web.

We will continue to evolve and update the Rayt toolbar as well as build a web portal where Rayt users can connect over issues or causes that they share in common. We welcome your feedback throughout this process! We are also looking for developers who are interested in contributing to this project -- Please email us at RaytTheNet@Gmail.com

"Rayt was designed as a web solution to empower and inform the public and affect social change in the 'real world.' Rayt accomplishes its goals by giving everyone with access to the Internet the opportunity to have their voice heard, to spread their message, and to engage corporations, businesses, and governments in conversations on their virtual domains."
